sometimes i hate the bay area. no, i take that back. sometimes i hate downtown palo alto. take lunch today, for example. i had lunch with the guy running DFJ's new late stage fund. at lunch, we run into his ex-boss, head of broadview investment banking. at the table around the corner, CEO of analog devices. table next to us? someone mouthing off about summit partners. i drive out of the parking lot, and who do i see in the bmw next to me on hamilton ave? an associate from NEA. and to top it all off? the plant watering guy for our offices is crossing the street to water the plants at some other venture firm.
